News from Tom Ziobrowski at the Boston RV Show
January 20th
We are at the Boston RV show, huge turnout. So, many FMCA membership requests, I
ran out of
applications. Over 150 flyers of ours we picked up with
questions. Diamond RV is a go big time, they are now a Newmar dealer,
coming with towable a also,
Connie and Tom (click to view full screen) |
He wanted to give me a $500
sponsorship now, but advised him to wait to we get closer. Also, Newmar
will be making a sponsorship cash donation, a coupon code - which I will
send to all for northeast area to collect $200 per unit sold between now
and the rally. This will help cut are entertainment cost, hopefully. We picked up Camping USA as vendor, and we plan on a Clear Channel TV ad, and
received some door prizes for us, lots of questions,
Thank
you John from Hudson Islanders for you help. This is what we need, and Tom & Anne - you two are big help.
Today is the last day of the show
here so we should get home around midnight as it closes at 6:00.

To The Chapters of FMCA’s Northeast Area...
Once again, in order to make our rally as special as possible for our attendees, we are asking each of our chapters to provide one door prize that can be awarded to one lucky individual or couple. Everyone enjoys winning a prize, and we would like to be able to offer as many as possible at this year’s rally.
So please help us
out by designating a representative from your chapter to purchase or get a
donation of one door prize to serve as your chapter’s contribution. It can be something that is relevant to your
chapter’s focus, or simply something that you think your fellow rally-goers
would enjoy. Feel free to attach a note
indicating the name of the donating chapter, and perhaps a good wish for the
person who receives your prize.
Again
we will be collecting NEW stuffed animals and toys for the Vermont emergency
services and the Marines Toys for Tots.
Thanks in advance
for your help in making NEAR 2014 extra-special for all those who attend!
Sincerely,
The NMA Executive
Board

Update about October Planning Meeting
Hi all, This should clarify the issue on our camping arrangements at the Lake George Escape.
Please pass this along as I lost my contact list of those that have contacted me
about this meeting and wanted to be kept informed. I tried my best to try to
remember, so consider this general information if you are interested.
But if you know of a member, even from another chapter, please feel free to pass
it along.
It is important when you call them for your reservation be sure to let them know
you are coming in with the northeast area of FMCA & you can also reference my
name.
Hope to see you all, and remember after business it is Warrensburgs Worlds
Largest Garage Sale Weekend, so bring some extra cash as you might find an
adirondack treasure you always wanted.

Harborfest, Oswego, NY
This year, several chapters have got together to return to Harborfest in Oswego, NY. Two years ago, 73 motor homes went to the rally on the shores or Lake Ontario. The Pen-NY Mixer and Fingerlakers Chapters are hosting the rally and Jim and Sherry Miller are Wagon Masters.
The dates for the rally are July 26th through the 30th with a Wednesday (25th) arrival available. The rally is DRY camping, $75 for for 4 nights.
So, if you are at NEAR in Essex Junction, VT; leaving on Monday or Tuesday, you have the opportunity for a leisurely drive along the St. Lawrence River to the Eisenhower Locks and then to an early arrival on Wednesday, July 25th and the fish dinner.
The folks at Harborfest are promising some great entertainment for their 25th anniversary event including both well known country and jazz performers on Sunday afternoon as well popular acts on Thursday through Saturday. New this year will be tall ships at the pier and a War of 1812 reinactments. They will announce the performers by the end of March so we will update you all. They are also going to be giving away a new Dodge Challenger in their raffle this year. Two years ago a rally attendee won the big cash prize in this raffle so don't miss out. Once again they will be bringing the trolley right to the front of our lot to get you to the festival.
Janet at Calico Gals quilt shop is planning some sort of activity for the group, probably on Friday morning. The fishing trip aboard Top Gun is also Friday morning. Two years we caught over 20 brown trout and 9 people have already signed up to go again. We have one boat full already but there are more boats available. The boats are beautiful 40 footers. Trip will be $120.00 each including the tip. If you want to go, let Jim Miller know ASAP so we can reserve more boats.
